PLEASE ATTEND THIS YEAR’S REGIONAL SCHOOL TO CAREER MOVIE INDUSTRY SHOWCASE EVENt…FRIDAY, OCTOBER 4, 2002 at the CREST THEATRE!!


Twenty five of the best youth made and juried movies from the US, and Canada will be exhibited on the big screen at our day-long movie career event and showcase festival at the Crest Theatre, 1013 K St. in Downtown Sacramento. Top movie industry guest speakers will include: John Stockwell & Rick Dallago creators of “Blue Crush” and “Crazy Beautiful”; , Bob Sabiston, producer of “The Waking Life”; Sara Kreutz, producer, writer and director of “Else Letterseed”, a new feature film being shot in Sacramento; and story master Tom Sito, President of the Motion Pictures Screen Cartoonists Guild. California’s best media universities and colleges, and state-of-the-art media and Movie make up exhibits will compliment the all teen produced showcase works at the school day event which hosts up to 1000 regional young people. The 6th Annual Youth Film and Education Day is a unique high point of the Annual Sacramento Festival of Cinema sponsored by Access Sacramento. The event will be hosted by Tower of Youth activists.
• Admission is $10 for youth 18 and under, and $15 for adults, which includes lunch.
• Registration and access to the Lobby exhibits & demonstrations will begin at 8:30 AM.
• The on stage Program begins at 9:30 AM sharp and goes until 6:00 PM.
• Seating is limited to 1000. Please RSVP or first come…first serve.
• Mature and socially responsible content exists among the youth produced Showcases.
• Please arrange for field trip and transportation support ASAP!!
We urge that provisions be made with families to support audience participation until 6 PM to attend the Youth Producer’s Round Table at 5 PM. “Waking Life” will be shown in its entirety Friday evening at the start of the Sacramento Festival of Cinema. A major reduced rate of $5 will be available for those who have attended the All Youth Film Day.
