| INNOCENT INTENTIONS |
|
Students in Ms. Flowers' Broadcasting/Film Production class at Mountain Brook Jr. High divided into groups to produce their own short film. Students choose their own topics, write their own scripts and storyboards, film and edit using iMovie. They were only given a five week period to complete their film. For "Innocent Intentions," students decided to produce a video that would encourage their peers to think twice about chatting with on-line strangers. Their hope was for viewers of their film to recognize how many people are victimized each day by internet stalkers. The film is about an adolescent girl who doesn't seem to fit in at school. She is harassed by the school bully. While on the internet, she begins to talk to a total stranger. He builds a relationship with her and makes here feel very special. Finally, he convinces her to meet him at a remote location. This meeting comes to a tragic ending for the girl. Powerful statistics follow that reveal just how many people become victims of internet stalkers. Martha Legg was the producer of this video. She researched the topic and organized the entire production. She spent many hours on this project. |
