The creative growth is awesome among teen movie makers this year! Twenty two top movie entries were selected to be shown at this year's 5th Annual All Youth Film and Education Day from among 196 individual North American entries, produced entirely by teens! Works arrived from 13 states, the District of Columbia, and 3 Canadian Provinces!

Oriana McGee, 24 year old recent grad from San Francisco State University Communication and Film Arts Department and movie production devotee, staffed the painstaking and challenging outreach effort to recruit the major inventory sent to TOY and then the rigorous 10 day process of coordinating the jury review and scoring of each movie.

Twenty regional Tower of Youth teens juried the works providing individual scores and critical commentary for each work which will be returned to each young filmmaker to encourage pursuit of this unrivaled artistic genre. This year's theme is, appropriately, "Teens Play It Forward"

The all day Friday, October 5th event will showcase, in 3 blocks, the best selected North American art works. The regional teen producers will attend the huge Crest Theatre event at their own group workshop to talk with their peer audience and share inspirations and advice. Major spokespersons from the industry will present visions of career opportunities and paths to the expected 1000 youth audience.

The extraordinary celebrity speakers will include: • Merle Marshall Daniels, Chairman of the Board and CEO of the Television Academy of Arts and Sciences which annually awards the Emmys; • Randy Nelson, President of the Pixar University; three top teen actors, • Vanessa Lee Chester (16) from "She's all That", "Lost World-Jurassic Park", Harriet the Spy" etc; • Courtnee Draper (16) from "The Duke", The 13th Year", Step Sister from Planet Weird", "Hanna" etc; and • Bradley Pierce (17) from "Jumanji", "Amanda", "The Undercover Kid", "Chaplin", etc. Finally, two time Sundance Film Festival Award winning Cinematographer, Ellen Kuras will speak.

Representatives from major graduate film schools will be on hand in the Crest Theatre lobby throughout the day to discuss their programs with students and their families, teachers and friends.

Admission for the 5th Annual All Youth Film Day event is $10 for youth under 21 and $15 for adults both which include lunch served in the Crest Theatre. Invitiation notices of the school day festival will be sent to all regional High Schools and colleges with registration forms. Pre registration will insure seating.
