FILM DESCRIPTION & STILLS FORTHCOMING

Jakub Kuczynski was born in Poland in 1984 and came to Canada in 1989. At about age 12 he became interested in filmmaking, inspired in part by the films of James Cameron. He recently began experimenting with stop motion photography. For Terminator 2: Future War, he drew frame by frame explosions, cut them out and painted them. He put blue gels over lamps to get a bluish color for the film. He used straws and special lighting for lasers. The film was extremely hard because in certain scenes he had to move 15 soldiers, a tank, a flying machine, a truck with soldiers and lasers being fired off, all at the same time, making sure the animation looked smooth. His efforts were rewarded with the Best Editing and Best Technical Effect awards at the Greenlight Film Festival in March of 1999.
