SHERAK

Thomas Sherak was named Chairman of 20th Domestic Film Group in January
of 1997. In addition, Mr. Sherak continues to serve as Senior Executive
Vice President of Fox Filmed Entertainment, a position he has held since
December of 1994. Previously, he was President of Domestic Distribution
and Marketing. In that position, he supervised the company's domestic distribution,
advertising / publicity / promotion operations and the non-theatrical film
division. Today, Mr. Sherak supervises domestic distribution of all Twentieth
Century Fox releases, cultivates relationships with independent producers
and works closely with Chairman Bill Mechanic on all motion picture related
activities. In addition, he oversees post-production and various special
projects. He has overseen the ditribution and post-production on such films
as The Star Wars Trilogy: Special Edition, Independence Day. The Full
Monty, Mrs. Doubtfire, Speed, Broken Arrow, Courage Under Fire, Doctor
Dolittle, The X-Files: Fight The Future, True Lies, and Die Hard
With A Vengeance, and many, many more.
Mr. Sherak joined Fox from General Cinema, where he was Vice President
and head film buyer. He began his career in the film industry at Paramount
Pictures in 1970, where he worked in New York, Washington DC, and St. Louis
distribution offices. He is an active board member of the National Multiple
Sclerosis Society, the Weizmann Institute, Fulfillment Fund of Southern
California, Southern California Variety - the Children's Charity, a member
of the Endowment Campaign Committee for the Academy Foundation, and Chairman
of the Foundation for Motion Picture Pioneers.
Mr. Sherak holds a degree in Marketing from New York City Community College
and is on the faculty of the UCLA Producers Program.
