SCRATCH BACK
A film by Nirish Parsad & Sanjay Shaw

This whimsical escapade takes us on an journey of fast paced action. Filled with curiously odd characters, Scratch Back displays Tarrantinoesque transitions between chase scenes, guns, violence and comedy. It is a twisted story about betrayal and knowing who your friends are. The film uses color and black & white to create the contradictory moods of the work as the artistic potpourri is couched in a melange of diverse music.
Nirish Parsad, an 18 year old recent graduate of Florin High School, has been immersed in digital graphic technology and filmmaking throughout his high school career. Nirish has been exploring cameras since elementary school and experimenting with stop motion. With support from his art and media teachers at school, Nirish discovered not only his ability but the impact his work had on people around him with a growing respect and appreciation of the deeper meaning of what he sees. Sanjay Shaw 21, co-creator of this short, is presently attending UC Berkeley. He has also been a film aficionado, especially in creating his own brand of comedy.
