CECELIA HALL

Cecelia Hall is a Senior Vice-President of Post Production Sound at Paramount Studios. Ms. Hall was the first woman nominated for an Academy Award for Best Sound FX Editing in 1987, for Top Gun. She won the Academy Award for Best Sound FX Editing for The Hunt for Red October in 1991. Other credits include Witness, Star Trek I, II, & III, Beverly Hills Cop I & II, Terms of Endearment, Addams Family I & II. Ms. Hall has been nominated for many MPSE Golden Reel Awards, and she won the Golden Reel Award for Something So Right and Top Gun. Ms. Hall served on the Executive Branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and on the Board of the Motion Picture Sound Editors, and was the first woman elected President of that organization in 1984.



 
KOKAYI AMPAH

Kokayi Ampah has been a part of the entertainment industry for over thirty-two years. His career began as a member of the Black Voices Training Program at a PBS affiliate television station in St. Paul, Minnesota. While in St. Paul, he met Gordon Parks, Sr. who directed  "Shaft’s Big Score" and "Leadbelly."  Mr. Parks allowed Kokayi to visit the film sets and to observe filmmaking first hand and ask the technicians about the work they did. Kokayi later relocated to Los Angeles to pursue filmmaking.  With the assistance of his friend, Ted Lange, (who played Isaac on the "Love Boat" television series) he was hired as a Production Assistant on "Roots II television mini-series. Kokayi would later become an Assistant Location Manager for "Roots."  His career in television continued for the next eight years as he served as Key Location Manager for a variety of  television series including "The Fall Guy," "The A Team," "Knightrider" and "Cagney and Lacey." His entry into the feature film arena came when he was asked to interview for a Steven Spielberg film. After the interview Kokayi walked away as the Key Location Manager for the "Color Purple." Since that time Kokayi has headed the location teams for such feature films as "White Men Can’t Jump," "In The Line of Fire," "Shawshank Redemption," "Mars Attacks," "Amistad," "Space Cowboys" and "Bedazzled." In 1995, Kokayi was honored as the first recipient of the California Film Commission’s "Location Professional of the Year in the Feature Division" and has been nominated again for this year.    Kokayi is currently working on the film "Evolution" directed by Ivan Reitman.

Veteran Emmy-nominated actor Tim Reid stars as a conservative Ray Campbell in the comedy series SISTER, SISTER a Passe Entertainment Production in association with Paramount Network Television for the WB. SISTER, SISTER marks Reid's tenth series in the three decades he has been in the business including: "The Richard Pryor Show" (NBC,1977); "WKRP In Cincinnati" (ABC,1978-82) with Loni Anderson and Howard Hesseman; "Teachers Only" (NBC, 1982-83) with Lynn Redgrave; "Simon & Simon" (CBS,1981-88) with Gerald McRaney and Jameson Parker; "Frank's Place" (CBS, 1988-89) and "Snoops" (CBS,1989-90), the latter two of which he co-starred with his wife, Daphne Maxwell-Reid.  In 1991, Reid appeared in the telefilm, "The Family Business" for CBS, and the four-hour -series Stephen King's "It" on NBC. Most recently, Reid successfully co-founded New Millennium Studios, the first film studio in Virginia. He will concentrate on the development and production of feature films. In the spring of 1998, Tim directed his second feature film "Asunder" from a script by Eric Bowers, starring Blair, Debi Morgan and Michael Beach, at New Millennium Studios. Tim has also co-created and produced 13 episodes of "Linc's," a half-hour comedy for the Showtime Network at New Millenium Studios, which premiered August 1, 1998.  For the past nine years, Reid and his wife and partner, Daphne Maxwell-Reid formerly of NBC' s "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," have lived on a farm in Virginia where they board horses.
