20 TOP NORTH AMERICAN YOUTH-PRODUCED SHORT MOVIES WILL SHARE THE SPOTLIGHT WITH ACADEMY AWARD AND MOTION PICTURE  INDUSTRY CELEBRITIES, EXHIBITS AND CALIFORNIA’S TOP FILM SCHOOLS AT THE UNIQUE SCHOOL-DAY  FESTIVAL THIS YEAR.

Friday, October 27th, will be an awesome, full day of creative movie explosions.  Where else in the United States and Canada do teenagers organize their own best-of-the-best showcase of original peer movie productions, host top Hollywood industry professionals, cruise through hands-on film arts and technology exhibits, and  spend a school day plunged into searching for their career dreams?  1000 youth, their friends, teachers and families will converge at the Crest Theatre, 1013 K Street, Down Town Plaza, at the Tower of Youth’s Fourth Annual All Youth Film and Education Day!

The outstanding twenty one (21) movies,  which will be shown in 3 separate Showcase sessions during the Film Day, were selected by an all youth regional jury headed by TOY Vice President of Youth Affairs, Sid Akbar. They include superb animation, claymation, drama, documentary, comedy and experimental entries, seven (7) of which created from local  youth producers!  The balance of the powerful works were selected from the 65 digital, film, and video entries submitted from across the United States and Canada and include masterpieces from Galiano Island in British Columbia, Kentucky, Colorado, Alabama, Southern California,, Oregon, and Missouri.  Despite the dearth of support for high school movie making and the absence of a movie making curriculum in the secondary schools, this year’s Film Day program has taken a quantum leap in quality and reflects a growing independent capacity and indomitable passion from high school age artists.

Admission for the All Youth Film and Education Day will include lunch served in the beautiful Crest Theatre, $10 for youth under 21, $15 for adults.  Doors will open for registration at 8:00 AM.  Registration and invitation announcements have been sent to the one hundred and forty (140) high schools in the Tower of Youth’s six county Sacramento valley, Sierra foothill region and the large corps of Hollywood industry leaders who have become part of the event’s supporters.

William Bronston, MD, founder and CEO of the Tower of Youth, is determined to establish a continental "Youth Movie Origins Association" Following up on the search for teen movie entries among schools and festivals.  Bronston is relentlessly attracting the best sources of high school movie making in order to establish a comprehensive movie production curriculum and then seek major coordinated film and digital industry financing to disseminate this education transforming and community building career package across North America.
