Hannah Minghella, president of production for Sony Pictures Animation, is responsible for overseeing the development and production of all films on the Sony Pictures Animation slate.
She is currently overseeing the mouth-watering 3D comedy inspired by the classic children's book CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS, which opens in North America on September 18; the live action/animated motion picture, THE SMURFS MOVIE, based on the iconic and loveable blue characters by Peyo; and HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA, an animated family comedy.
Previous to her current appointment, Minghella served as director of creative affairs for Sony Pictures Co-Chairman Amy Pascal. In that capacity, she worked closely with Pascal across all of Sony Pictures' divisions and projects.
In addition, Minghella worked with the production team at Columbia Pictures on such films as
CASINO ROYALE and QUANTUM OF SOLACE. She recently was responsible for helping to bring the spy-thriller film project, EDWIN A. SALT, to the studio.
Prior to joining Sony, Minghella worked alongside director Steven Shainberg to help start Vox 3 Films, an independent production company in New York where she oversaw development. Before starting Vox 3 Films, Minghella spent four years at Miramax Films in New York where she served as a creative executive for Meryl Poster. Poster and Bob Osher were co-presidents of production at the time.
Born in England, Minghella is one of the original co-founders of Stellar Network, a non-profit membership- based organization in the UK that provides resources and support to film, theater and television professionals.
