PAST EVENTS

Every year the Tower of Youth has an annual outreach event known as The Teen Digital Reels Showcase. This challenges youth to create digital movies under three minutes in length. Pairs of teen coproducers send in their entries which are then judged by top professional experts and civic leaders and ranked accordingly. At the celebration the best works are given awards in the following content categories: Wonder, Youth Challenges, Perspectives on the Environment, Civic Issues, Story Telling, and PSA models. Preparation for this event starts months ahead with training sessions provided by the University of California at Davis New Media Center's staff and are open to youth and their teachers.
