What is the Tower Of
Youth?
The
Tower of Youth is a strategic project of the World Interdependence Fund
(501 c3) to establish a Sacramento Valley, Sierra foothill regional, all
teen age youth membership organization and media corporation; building
new careers through creative non profit and commercial projects in Telecommunications,
entertainment, arts and media.
It concentrates access to, and mastery of, cutting edge information and
communications technologies to create a far reaching youth cultural voice,
messages and images rooted in the values of interdependence, creativity,
human worth, service to others, and caring in order to change society in
the coming century.
The Tower of Youth will center its operations in a unique place to create
and showcase performing arts productions. It will be a studio complex where
youth will produce state of the art radio, television, movie, digital graphic
arts, internet, and telecommunications productions and communications.
It will house an inspiring gathering and safe space, offices and a conference
site ultimately administered by a new youth media corporation in partnership
with the Tower of Youth sponsors.
This facility will be the hub of an extensive network of new and existing
youth programs and organizations designed to offer support to youth in
the schools and the community at large.
A major step beyond existing youth support, leadership and development
programs, The Tower of Youth will organize a media arts training and mentoring
academy without walls that will operate year round. Tower of Youth is a
model non governmental strategy to involve large numbers of youth, as members,
in addressing and solving pressing societal problems and needs, to create
a desired future. It is committed to full inclusion of the most diverse
youth, (14 to 21 years old) including those at risk and youth with disabilities,
the Tower of Youth establishes pathways to the full range of jobs and careers
in the telecommunications, entertainment, arts and media industries.
