About Showcase Awards

Each year the Tower of Youth produces a regional showcase event to exhibit the best professionally juried works submitted by the youth attending the Sacramento - Sierra high schools and sparse community based after school training programs.

The works document the state-of-the-art available to our student community, a sensitive marker of growth, inertia, success and challenges that the educational field of digital arts media experiences.

These immensely labor intensive digital art works are astounding in their originality, beauty and substance.

2 and 3D animation and digital video works are the windows into the emotional and social lives of the young artists…a profound and dramatic perspective of meaning and absorbtion among our teen generation.

Corporate leaders and celebrity moderators introduce the youth winner’s works to the big screen with major sponsors of the event giving thousands of dollars in digital software and hardware to the entry winners and their adult mentors.

This year, the works are submitted in five content categories: Perspectives on the Environment; Short Story – Animation & Video; Public Service Ad/Commercials; the Wonder of Sound and Music; and Leadership.

There is a Grand Prize also awarded.

Youth wielding the power of new computer technology will ultimately become the new “landlords” of communication arts and interconnectivity in the world.

Our region’s schools and pioneering teachers man the gateway to the realization of this inevitable development.
